ARMADA DECLIVITY 88 C R + EM10 2003-2004

ARMADA DECLIVITY 88 C R + EM10 2003-2004

The Declivity 88 C is a high-performance, directional all-mountain ski designed for those who spend the majority of their time on frontside terrain but want the versatility to duck into the trees or sidecountry. While its siblings in the Declivity line use heavy Titanal (metal), the "C" in this model stands for Carbon, utilizing a triaxial carbon weave to provide energy and "snap" without the added weight. This makes the 88 C a more agile, playful, and energetic option for skiers who prioritize a lively feel over raw, heavy-metal dampness.

Key Features:

  • Carbon Reinforcement (88 C): Instead of a heavy metal sheet, this model uses carbon fiber stringers. This provides excellent "pop" and rebound out of turns, making the ski feel incredibly responsive and easy to flick between edges while maintaining enough rigidity for high-speed stability.
  • Caruba Wood Core: This is Armada’s lightest wood core material. It reduces the overall weight of the ski significantly, making it less fatiguing for all-day sessions and much easier to maneuver in tight spots like moguls or glades.
  • 88mm Waist: The 88mm waist is the "sweet spot" for all-mountain versatility. It is narrow enough to be lightning-fast on groomed runs and ice, yet wide enough to provide sufficient float and stability when you encounter afternoon slush or a few inches of fresh snow.
  • EST All-Mountain Rocker: Featuring rocker in the tip and a small amount in the tail with traditional camber underfoot. This profile allows for effortless turn initiation and "smearing" in soft snow, while the camber provides the "bite" and horsepower needed for carving on firm pack.
  • Comp Series Base: A high-speed, sintered base that is designed to be durable and hold wax longer, ensuring you maintain speed across flat sections and cat-tracks.
  • 1.7 Impact Edge: These edges are heat-treated and built to be lightweight yet durable, resisting the "chipping" or "rolling" that can happen when skiing in variable terrain.
