SPRO BRONZEYE FROG JR
The SPRO Bronzeye Frog remains one of the most heralded topwater lures in the history of competitive bass fishing. Following Dean Rojas’ landmark success at the 2004 Bassmaster Classic on Lake Wylie, this bait effectively set the standard for the modern hollow-body frog. It is engineered not just for surface presence, but as a heavy-duty "system" built to withstand the extreme pressures of fishing thick vegetation with heavy braided line.
Key Performance Features
- Gamakatsu 2x Strong EWG Hook: The Bronzeye is built around a custom-designed Gamakatsu EWG (Extra Wide Gap) Double Frog Hook. The "2x strong" wire ensures the hooks won't flex or straighten when you're winching a fish out of heavy cover. The wide gap, combined with a specialized body collapse, provides a superior hook-up ratio.
- Optimized Body Geometry: The body is narrower and longer than most frogs, making it exceptionally easy to "walk-the-dog" in open water or sparse grass. This streamlined profile also allows it to slide over thick mats without catching on surface debris.
- Super-Soft Plastic Formula: The material is specifically balanced to be soft enough for instant hook exposure when a fish bites, yet durable enough to resist tearing from toothy strikes.
- Integrated Durability:
- Welded Line Tie: The eyelet is welded shut to prevent thin, high-strength braided lines from slipping through a common point of failure on lesser frogs.
- Molded Weight: Unlike "glued-on" weights that can fall off after a few strikes, the Bronzeye’s weight is molded directly into the body, ensuring the bait lands upright and stays balanced.
- Secured Living Rubber Legs: The legs are anchored inside the body so they won't pull out. They are intentionally left extra long, giving you the freedom to trim them to your preferred length for a customized "walk."
- Water-Resistant Seal: The nose of the bait is anchored to the wire, significantly reducing the amount of water that enters the body. This keeps the frog buoyant and effective cast after cast.
